Ardmore’s ‘The Great Zambezi’

phpThumb_generated_thumbnailjpg2016 saw a landmark event for Ardmore as Hermès, Paris launched our designed silk scarfs. This is the first time a South African design has been used by Hermès and we view it as an incredible honour. To commemorate this event, we are creating major works to parallel the theme of ‘La Marche du Zambèze’. The collection is dedicated to Fée’s homeland, Zimbabwe, where the Great Zambezi River forms its northern borders. View these magnificent artworks at Patrick Mavros, 104 – 106 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6HS, from Wednesday, May 18 to Sunday, May 29.

Design One Consortium

Design One Consortium

Design One Consortium’s founder, Lynne Bryan Phipps, believes that every project is a unique and individual endeavor, requiring unique and individual professionals.

The idea behind the Consortium is to bring together a team of professionals that can offer our clients the best possible design solution.

It all begins with space. A core belief of Design One Consortium is that space – or more accurately the perception of space – is a paramount consideration in any design concept.

Good design considers space an asset and, whether it be in a corporate or residential environment, we work to understand the individuals involved, the organizational structure and the requirements of every individual client. We translate that data into a design that

  • maximizes functionality,
  • maximizes comfort (both psychological and physical),
  • presents the goals, visions and values of the particular client

…and transforms space through a design that will meet their needs better, and endure well into the future.

As a business, our goal is to favorably alter traditional thinking about what constitutes good design, by delivering alternative solutions to conventional standards.

Commercial

Truly effective office design cannot disregard individuals and their connections with co-workers. In addition, we encourage the use of alternative energy sources and recycle/recyclable materials, demonstrating that successful business and concern for resources, both natural and human, can happily coincide.

Residential

We work closely with our clients to design the spaces in which people live and work, as well as the tools and furnishings that they use daily.

Non-Profit

Design One Consortium takes an integrated, or holistic approach, to design which includes environmental sustainability and re-use, and the psychological effect of the built environment.

What We Do

Lang Naturals

Services

Design One Consortium takes a client-centric, needs-based approach in providing the full range of interior building design services, to deliver clients an integrated resource for:

  • Consulting
  • Design
  • Construction Management

Design One Consortium offers expertise spanning the areas of  interior building design, needs analysis, site identification, design, and project management. We have collaborative relationships with other industry professionals such as engineers, architects, landscape architects, and builders making it possible to offer our clients a full range of services.

Believing that space should be designed from the inside out, we specialize in interior building design. Design One Consortium achieves effective and functional design by considering all aspects of the design:

  • Psychological effects of the space
  • Functional and aesthetic needs of the occupants
  • Sustainability – “green” design
  • Structural and stylistic issues
  • Historic values in the structure or property

Residential

Sustainable Design

Do you ever wonder where the materials in your interior environment come from?

Everything in the built environment is manufactured from raw materials that are harvested from our environment – and everything that’s produced comes from a limited resource.

That’s why it’s so important that consumers pay close attention to where the products come from, from what they are made, and the processes by which they are manufactured.

As in most manufacturing arenas, the companies producing building and finishing products fall anywhere on the spectrum from non-existent re-use, to fully environmentally sustainable practices.

Some companies have become quite proficient at reuse of waste materials from their manufacturing processes, others focus on creating their products from recycled materials in the first place. Still others have become progressive in their management and human resource strategies so that they produce their products in a humane way; offering a living wage for employees, and benefits packages that include resources for socially responsible practices.

Our approach, in all of our designs for both living and working space, is to provide our clients, whenever possible, with viable, cost effective options for using sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials and processes.
