Our Higher Self: The Glass Float Project

Photo by Pete Godfrey on Unsplash We are supported this week by The Glass Float Project in Rhode Island. Eben Horton’s Glass Station studio and gallery designs beautiful works of art—glass floats—that get hidden by a team of volunteers around Block Island. People from all over the world head to “the Block” in search of these numbered and registered glass orbs!  The artistry, the sense of community, and the joy of connection inspires, uplifts, and supports everyone who is part of this beautiful project.

Our Higher Self: A Sea Turtle’s Meandering Journey

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash We are uplifted this week by this Sea Turtle story from The Smithsonian about how other creatures navigate the world. It’s tempting to think that everyone else has a plan, knows what they are doing, and travels in straight lines. It turns out sea turtles are just feeling their way intuitively, along with everyone else…

Inspirited Living BeComing You Intro Course: Monarch Migration

We are supported this week by the awe-inspiring and magnificent Monarch butterfly mass migration (trying saying that 3 times quickly!). In October, the Monarch butterflies—up to 4 generations—make their way to Mexico. As we understand more about vanishing habitats, our milkweed gardens, and wildflower meadows form part of a web of communities across Canada and the United States that protect Monarch butterflies. The butterflies arrive in Mexico in November, around the Day of the Dead celebration, in spectacular mass swarms.   We hope you enjoy the stories this week as much as we have enjoyed curating them!

Inspirited Living BeComing You Intro Course: Waterfire!

Photo by Timon Studler on Unsplash We are uplifted this week by the Waterfire festivals in Providence, Rhode Island.  May  through December, the river running through Providence, RI is literally set on fire. Unique to Providence, the festival invites people to be outside at night and to walk through the heart of historic Providence. The evening stroll is illuminated by braziers burning on the water. The flickering Waterfire makes for extraordinary images, beautiful photos, and inspiring stories.
