At Inspirited Living, we are feeling really inspired this week by so many of you who are participating in Inspirited Living’s BeComing You Intro Course.

It’s free, we don’t sell your information, and we love meeting you!

If you have questions, please just reach out and ask. Some of the most common questions we receive about the inspirited living course:

  • How much time does the BeComing You Intro Course take?
  • Do I have time to fulfill my roles and responsibilities and learn?
  • Do I need to create some boundaries for myself around self-care?
  • How can I succeed at the course?

Creating a Place for You: Morning Rituals and Evening Silence

In her Inspirited Living Morning Rituals vlog, Lynne Bryan Phipps, Inspirited Living’s founder, shines a spotlight on being mindful and intentional about how we start our day. Do we have an intentional morning ritual that sets us up for a day lived on our terms? Do we start grounded, calm, and secure in our connection with ourselves?

Sounds simple: a morning ritual can help you start your day.

But, real-talk: For some people this can be a really complicated topic.

The possibilities of Self care might seem too difficult with all of our family and community responsibilities. A morning ritual might bump up against roles and responsibilities that don’t seem flexible. How can you find time and space for you?

Setting aside time for a self compassionate, grounded start to your day benefits  everyone around you as much as it benefits you! . You know how to explore habits vs. intentions… But there never seems to be a place for you…

A Place for You: When is your moment?

How can you find a place and time for you?

Just asking the question is a start. As Lynne talks about in  Inspirited Living’s BeComing You Intro Course, becoming intentional about when we can embrace our mindfulness practice is a journey.

It’s really tempting to declare a time as the perfect time.

Done. Decided. The End.

Perfectionist me who is pretty sure the universe is judging everything I do says: first thing in the morning is the perfect time to reflect on my day!

Real me says: ugh…I have nothing to reflect on…I haven’t answered emails…I need to get out of the house…the dogs want to chase squirrels…maybe tomorrow….

So day 1 or day 2 can feel like an epic fail.

Oh dear.

We put such high expectations on our road to self discovery that we can set ourselves up to fail. So let’s shift perspective. Let’s try this with compassion and a much more caring inner voice….

A Place for You: Industrial You vs. BeComing You

Creating a Place for You: Morning Rituals and Evening SilenceHere is a radical and disruptive thought: who told you there is only one right way to do something?

Who said, you only get one chance to get something right?

What if we said instead: The notion that perfection is expected every time, even when we are doing something for the first time, is outdated?

Outdated? How outdated? Industrial revolution-era outdated! Seriously—before there was Downtown Abby and some epic family drama in long dresses, there was the industrial revolution and it came with expectations that are not about how we learn and grow and actually do things.

The “Only One Way” approach comes from the era of production lines, of repeating the same process again and again. Of mastering a process. Of being a tiny part of a much bigger machine.

Perfection and instant mastery are a dauntingly high bar to clear.

The intentions for this course, are the polar-opposite.

You are trying to shake off perfection and get to know the parts of you that an industrialized world doesn’t value

The Path to Self Discovery: Know Yourself

Help is at hand. Inspirited Living’s BeComing You Intro course asks you to shift perspective. And that includes how you interact with the course.

Instead of declaring a time and place, Lynne asks you to play with your day.

Instead of feeling like, I failed, we want you to be able to say, “I found out more about myself.”

How awesome is that?

It’s a course on self-discovery in which you actually experience…self-discovery!

When is Your Moment? Exploring your Path to Self Discovery

As we take baby-steps towards allowing ourself to learn more about what we like and what we don’t like, we can also start to ask ourselves: when is the best time for me? What is the best time of day for me to create space so I can ground and connect with myself?

On the journey of discovery, you can explore: when is the best time to focus on the intuitive and creative part of me? How can I best support myself during my day?

When is my moment?

Is your moment for grounding when your eyes open in the morning, or before they close at night? Is your moment for journaling a little time you take – apart from everyone at lunch?

Can you take a moment for reflecting and luxuriating in your glorious creative imagination at the end of the day instead of doom-scrolling?

Is your moment for good news to savor Sunday morning with us at Inspirited Living? We curate three beautiful stories and ideas each week. Just three ideas to inspire, uplift, and support your path to self-discovery.

Your Path to Self Discovery: A Place for You

Lynne also asks you in Inspirited Living’s BeComing You Intro Course to open your mind up to your creative side.

In her best-selling book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, artist and author Betty Edwards leads budding artists through a process of creating from the creative hemisphere of the brain.  She reminds us that when we are right-handed, the logical analytical left brain likes to rule the roost with narrow analysis, measuring, assessing, and logic.

Instead, Betty Edwards, has an elegant method for helping the creative side of the brain—the right side—free reign to draw, create, reflect on the big picture. The result for her many students, is extraordinary art. Free flowing creativity.

Of course, for left handed people, we just reverse the process to use the part of our brains that can see the world holistically!

It’s a great method to help each one of figure out how we see the world, and how we can choose to see it.

A Place For You: Your Path to Self Discovery

Somewhere in the middle of finding your time to be you and giving yourself the space  to try on some new viewpoints, you might have some aha moments.

We can have compassion for ourselves when you find out something’s “not for me.”

Learning what you like and don’t like IS the journey.

And when we start to feel the excitement of finally allowing our creative brains the freedom to be creative…  We realize that Lynne Bryan Phipp’s Inspirited Living BeComing You Intro Course is just the start of your journey back to yourself.
